Belinda HallFirst time to run Comrades.
Betina De AraujoI am a slow runner but I am absolutely passionate about running. I've done one marathon - the easiest one in SA - which is Cango and I would love to do Comrades 2010!
Grant RoodeI have just got goose bumps making this commitment! I gave up smoking a year ago after 23 years of smoking.  I replaced the suck on the cigarette with a footstep on the road.  I have run 891.1Km to date, been through and always going through the 'runner's road of trials' but loving it.  Comrades is my goal and I love your website!  I love the expression, in other words, the lead up to Comrades is tougher than tough but on the day just go and fetch the medal.  I am striving to fetch the medal!
Karen ThorntonI don't drink (much); I don't do (illegal) drugs... but I am a Comrades junkie... let the training begin (again!)
Janet JacksonAfter 11 years am going back for my 5th - its a score to settle from way back when I ran for a PMB club !
Anja CarstensA promise to run my first Comrades for all those who would dearly want to but can't.
Elda PietersenI ran my last comrades in 2007 and did not finish, the gun went off as i entered the stadium.I believe i did not have enough training as i was working lots of overtime.  I had actually decided that i was never going to run comrades, as i have completed 6 & i just dont get enough time to train, but as i have just received this traning program from my co runnrer i think iam going to run 2010.
Heather CampbellGoing for my first...im young but feel very passionate about Comrades. I cant wait!
Michele KasfikisI did my first comrades in 2003 and only ran 78km cause I stopped for a cub of tea, which is stupid as I was almost home, so next year I am off to Durban to get the one that got away..I am so ready for this.

Bernadine Carol BensonDoing my second - purely for the back-to-back double down - oh yeah and the ABSOLUTE THRILL OF IT!!! See you all on the road.
Eylis CornishThis time I will make it!
Trudy Houghyip going for number 9 next year and I turn 50 .. it's gonna be a big one!! Thanks for your commitment to Comrades and for helping so many people to achieve what they think they can't. You are an amazing person.
Johann du Plessis I'll be back after 13 years. I finished in 10:41 in 1997. 2010 is a great year for a long overdue return.
Jonette LeeI last run a Comrades in 2002 and since got married to a dedicated triathlete which have got its own pressures.... I want to prepare properly for the 2010 race and not injure myself.
Sheridan Owen-DaviesFamous last words "never again" but here I am entering for the second time. Going for my back to back medal, pity its down again though. Thanks to Don and Nikki for their fantastic support and training programs.
Shani SteynI started running 2 years ago to lose weight. I lost 30kg in 6 months.  Running is now my BEST friend. To run the Comrades will be the ultimate tribute for me, a tribute to my body that has survived so much abuse and come out OK, and a tribute to God, who has blessed me with the abilty to run.
Gill ElliottI dedicate my Comrades marathon to my King. Alan you are more than a husband to me. Thank you for being, "the trust I seek and I found in you!" from your wife Gill(PINKY).XXX
Candice PascoeI started last year July and ran the 2009 comrades, however I pushed to hard to quick and was plaqued with FLU and Chest infections from mid Feb to March, then I got ITB injury in April. Anyway I went to experience 2009 comrades knowing my mind would take me through but my body would. I got to halfway in 6.19 and thats the end. But I loved every minute of the journey. Sometimes its not all about the end but the journey to the end. I am rearing for 2010, but am not going to make the same mistakes.

Annette LackeyI believe you have not run if you have not done the comrades, I have built up my training as was at my peak level and then something happens (attacked by dogs, flu etc) to crash my dreams. I pray that this time it will happen. Even though I will be 65 in 2010 I believe I can do it.
Elize Hartley I ran the Comrades eleven times and on my 10th I follow Don Oliver's program for sub eleven hours, the program time was 10:40 and I'll did it in 10:41.... AWESOME, FANTASTIC, but then I was the last 2 years out of the game, because of my knees, i'll got osteo arthritis, but I'll want to go back next year, I'll already enter the comrades, and I'll go back on Don Oliver's programme. So on the moment i'll focus to do the Tough One 22 November, my 19th one.
Nolwazi Cokoto  ive neva won a medal before  n iv neva ran a marathon but i wana win this one n make maself proud
Brenda CoomerHave run 5 previous Comrades but my last one was in 2000.
Brian Super Hiya all I took the early plunge and entered again two days ago without too much thought! I ran on average 3 days a week for this yrs race so I am not suprised that I was pretty stiff afterwards. Now the challenge is to continue training at least 5 times a week so that my 2010 Charity run is that much more successful than my 1125 journey! my www.haveaheart.co.za website should be up & running again December to create an awareness of the dire need to help charities here in the Table View area.

Yolande PapasThis is a great website, i was wondering though....Do you by any chance have a Gauteng training programme for a silver at comrades?
Thamsanqa NgcoboMedal count=4, Ultimate goal - green number.  Comrades 2010: shave off 35 minutes of 2009 finish time (was saved by a sub 10hr pacing bus)
Elize HartleyYes, I want to run the  Comrades again, I already did 11, and was off for two years, but for me, i'm totally lost, feel if I'm not running before, so I want a program again to start.

Rod KernesHave completed 7 consecutive Comrades, last one in 2000. Novice, Mark Hayworth, stated he would do the next 3 with me to attain my green number. Have him registered and here we go. Very excited.

Peter John BauerI ran and completed my tenth(10) Comrades in 2004 and then left the country for work reasons. Having now returned, have began training for my eleventh. I have a best time of 09:30 but this was achieved in 1994 (when young and dangerously good looking).
Deborah Horn-Botha Comrades isn't just a race, its a lifestyle.  No. 2 here I come!  With the help of Don and Nicky of course - thank you.
Ben HattinghThank you for the opportunity to be part of the great Comrades challenge. I do get inspired and motivated through Don's training program. I have completed 4 (with Don's programmes) failed 2 (other programs) and missed 2. I want to be ready for 2010.
Mark WaltersYou have heard that comment "One day when I grow up..." Last year I decided to "grow up" and ran my first Comrades alone. Picked up a thigh cramp at 30km that just would not quit (undertrained) but I pushed it to 70km in under 10hrs when I bailed. After saying NEVER AGAIN, I have decided that I still want that cherry, that medal of medals. I need encouragement & support to get me there!

Michelle SimpsonI am so glad to have found this site - What a challenge - I have never been athletic (asthma as a kid, so never really allowed) - High School saw me doing the annually 100m dash and thats that.  Started running with my boyfriend - got injured - started running again - and got sick - started running again - injuries again!!!  BUT this will not stop me - I want to prove a point - your mental ability will take you through the physical inability!   Hoping we can all use this website to encourage one another!  See you at Comrades!!!!

Cornelia SmutsI am training for my first comrades this year.  I have qualified at Winelands marathon in 4ho7.  My dream is to run Two Oceans under 6h and comrades sub 11 hours.  I have changed to Don Olivers training programme because I think it is brilliant encouraging and sensible.  Telling me exactly what to do.  I also enjoy Nikki's website and I think she is wonderfull.

Paul HannahPain is temporary. Quitting lasts forever.  Lance Armstrong
Simphiwe MguniIts my first and i want to finish it how do i do that.
Khinesh VallabhHi, i am a novice that has signed up for the 2010 85th Commrades. I have also qualified at PostNet at 4.55. Really looking forward to this MAJOR achievement that i WILL conquer :) p.s thanks for this GREAT site that sets reallity in :)
Tanvir KazmiHaving never run a distance beyond 42K, I woke up one morning and searched for possibilities that exist beyond. It did not take long to decide - Comrades was the biggest one by a wide margin. There has been no finisher from India, ever, at Comrades. I hope our group of 9 folks from India will make a new history.
Sally KrugerTurned 40 last year and made the decision to run Comrades this year.  Time constraints have made it impossible to run the distances I should have so I feel undertrained.  And had a bad fall running Oceans which has led to knee and calf injuries.  But going to be at the start line and determined that my mind will get me to the end. SHUT UP AND RUN - that's all I can do!
Anne LudickRan Comrades in 2000 got into the stadium as the gun went off. Aim to finish Big C 2010.
Kevin Afrikaner I'll be there, nice site you have. 2nd one - first was in 1996. Hoping for a solid bronze time.
Micky ElliottMy 3rd Comrades but not consecutive.  Ran in 2003 then 2008 and now my last one will be 2010.
Dave Thomas I have been running for over 15 years but Comrades is a race that I have been able to side step until now.  Some say you are not a runner until you have done Comrades. It has not been my dream, but I know it is something I want to experience at least once.  I am going to get it right the first time so I don't have to go back again if I don't want to.
Monique van HeerdenIts been my dream to run comrades ever since I can remember. Ive watched almost every comrades since I was able too and finally this year I am making my dream come true. I ran my first 10km in January last year, first half marathon in July and my first marathon in November. I have a wonderful coach/boyfriend who is helping me every step of the way and without whom i would not be where I am now. There has been a few hurdles including an ITB operation in February but we still managed to start Oceans..... and finish it, although in 8 hours. I did the Lindsay training run and after that run felt that I am able to do comrades. Now im counting the days till the big moment. Im excited but I can feel the butterflies in my stomach getting more and more. We are aiming for a sub 12. I cant wait to experience the race everyone says is so special. See you all on the road
Nicki Barnard This is my first Comrades and my wish is to finish within the 12 hour cut-off!  No record breaking times for me....
Linda CoetzeeNovice comrades runner who now cannot wait to go and fetch that medal!! All I'm hoping for is a "comfortable" run within cutoff time. Let the fun begin .... Race number 44501.  Wishing all my fellow Comrades runners a successful and enjoyable journey to the finish line.
Roger ArendseNow that the Big-C is just around the corner - I am really looking forward to it. The 2010 'down run' is sure to be unforgettable. I wish all novices, especially from Celtics, a memorable day on the road. May each of you achieve your goal. My race # 55223, and going for bronze.
Bryn Leverton Ran last in 2003 and 2004: Have two vic clapham medals. Hoping for a very comfortable vic clapham at worst, best case scenario though, hoping for a 10:50 comrades on May 30th.
Michelle Bedwell Novice comrades runner (Pinelands AC)- i cannot wait now nerves is getting to me, want to finish under cutoff with minimal amount of pain and come home with that well deserved medal.
Malcolm PikeNovice comrades runner (Pinelands AC)- I got back into running after a 25 year lay off (car accident)- which doctors said I would never be able to run again. Thanks to god i will be running my 1st comrades with my finance' and we will be coming home with that well deserved medal. Race no is 35482.
Trish Gilmour  Race Number: 46952
Chris Geale Race Number: 24382
Rob Gardner
Cheryl Witte Thank you for the awesome information about Comrades that you have profiled on your website.  Have referred to it often and found in incredibly useful.  Am as nervous as anthing but very excited - as this will be my first Comrades.
Bobo Shange      I commit to running and finishing 2010 Comrades marathon and improve on previous times.
